About us

Lingkar Keadilan Ruang (short RUANG, lit. Circle for Spatial Justice) was officially registered in 2023. We decided to establish the group as a legal entity in the fifth year of our collective work. Prior to registering the group we have begun our collective work in organising study groups, discussion forums and campaign workflows, with a focus on critical ecology, self-sufficiency, autonomy and art activism. We acknowledge the disparity between actual conditions of members in the study group with how they are subjected as cheap labourers who are indigenous to an area that is being developed as a tourism destination, industrial grounds, etc. Our attempts are not directed to empower or educate the participants, because the intention is to facilitate dialectical processes, in which we ourselves are consciously unlearning the generalised knowledge that have been imposed for generations. Our aim is to have more comrades to strengthen human’s innate abilities to survive without exploiting and to be autonomous yet organised.
